GBDF Educational Incentive Award

 

The Gregory B. Davis Memorial Education Incentive Award was established in August of 2000. Its purpose is to 
offer an incentive award to high school students who have a middle academic range GPA and who is seeking 
excellence. GBDF is pleased offer its Annual Incentive Award to deserving Northampton County senior students.

Preference for this financial incentive will be given to a student.

 

  1. Who has a middle academic range (2.40 to 3.00 GPA). 

  2. Who demonstrates academic promise, but is ineligible for traditional merit financial awards.

  3. Who will be attending a two-year or four-year College or university upon graduation.

GBDF Educational Incentive Award Winners 

The Gregory B. Davis Foundation has been providing Educational Incentive Awards to deserving high school seniors since 2001.  Below are those who have been award recipients since 2009: 

2017 Award Winner

 

Quanisha Jones of Roanoke Rapids, NC, a graduate of KIPP: Gaston College Prep attends East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.

 

2016 Award Winner

Christopher Ragland of Warrenton, a graduate of KIPP Pride High School in Gaston, NC is attending Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, NC.

 

2015 Award Winners

Roshauna Williams, of Woodland, Northampton High School graduate attends Elizabeth City State University.  Jakela Watson of Gaston, KIPP graduate attends Winston Salem State University, Winston Salem, NC.

 

2014 Award Winners

Aaliyah Parker, of Pendleton, graduate of Northampton County High School attends North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, NC.  Andrea Patterson, Roanoke Rapids, graduate of KIPP is currently enrolled in college.

 

2013 Award Winners

Asia Ryland of Seaboard, NC, a graduate of Northampton County High School-East attends Shaw University, Raleigh, NC.  Kiarra Travis, KIPP graduate of Roanoke Rapids, attends Greensboro College, Greensboro, NC

 

2012 Award Winners

JaVonte Lashley of Roanoke Rapids, a graduate of Northampton County High School-West STEM, attends Elizabeth City State University. Raqueta Lassiter of Gaston, graduate of KIPP Pride High School, attended North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC.

 

2011 Award Winners

             

William Alston of Gaston, graduate of Northampton High School –West STEM,

attended North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC.  Tashendelyn Lashley, graduate of Northampton High School-West STEM, attended Elizabeth City State University, Elizabeth City, NC.

 

2010 Award Winners

India Brower of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Kendrell Green of Pleasant Hill, NC, both graduates of Northampton County High School West attended Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC.

 

2009 Award Winners 

The 2009 recipients are Jasmine Caldwell of Henrico, Northampton High School West graduate, plans to attend North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, and Corey Neal of Jackson, Northampton High School East graduate, also plans to attend North Carolina A&T State University.
