The Roanoke Valley Breast Cancer Coalition was in full force on June 13 at the recent Komen Race for the Cure in Raleigh.
A total of 54 area women, men and youth participated in this exciting and inspiring statewide annual event.
This group was a combined effort representing the Women of Steel and Stacy’s Super Squad. The group was also asked to do a photo shot and videotaped session with news anchor Gerald Owens of WRAL- TV.
The “Sisters” Support Group of Hollister led the pack in the survivor walk. The day ended in Raleigh with lunch after the Race. Thanks to the Komen Foundation for supporting this effort via funds from a Passing the Promise Grant and the recently funded Saving Our Sisters II Grant, where the Gregory B.
