What We Do

 

The Roanoke Valley Breast Cancer Coalition in collaboration with the Gregory B. Davis Foundation provides support to the Roanoke Valley Community  (Halifax, Northampton, and Warren Counties) to increase  COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence in eastern North Carolina. Our target population are groups at risk for COVID-19 outbreaks and those at risk for under-immunization. This project will provide health education and community engagement on COVID-19 vaccines by local trusted sources in ways that are culturally appropriate. Through this project the RVBCC and GBDF will:

• Partner with stakeholders and community influencers to identify information sources; and plan health education outreach and community engagement on COVID-19 vaccine.

• Inform/educate target population on vaccine and health choices.

• Empower families to participate in conversations concerning effective vaccines to reduce myths, address trust factors and improve vaccine confidence.
